On this guided trip (includes trekking, 1 day of Sea Kayaking, horse-back riding and (fly) fishing, as well as 2 day boat trip through fjords of Strait of Magellan and Darwin Range), it’s possible know the Karukinka Conservation Park in Southern Tierra del Fuego was established in 2004 through a land grant from Goldman Sachs to the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) in one of the largest donations ever made for conservation and a unique cooperation model in the world. Transfer by overland to Torres del Paine, guided trekking through Ascencio Valley, Navigation in open-boat through Serrano River to Puerto Toro.

DAY 1:
Arrival to Punta Arenas. Navigation to Magdalena Island, part of the Penguins Natural Monument that together with Marta Island offers high scenic value sites recognized for their large and varied bird life. In this place is one of the largest colonies of penguins in Chile, with a population estimated at more than 69 thousand pairs of Magellanic penguins. Typical dinner in a local seafood restaurant. Accommodation in a modern hostel in Punta Arenas

DAY 2:
Transfer by overland to Torres del Paine National Park, with a stop-over to take lunch in Puerto Natales and visit the Cueva del Milodon (Milodon Cave). We will made a second stop in Cerro Castillo, after reaching the National Park Torres del Paine by the Laguna Amarga sector, a trip accompanied by red foxes and condors with stunning panoramic views of the Paine massif. Accommodation in camping Las Torres.

DAY 3:
Full day guided trekking through Ascencio Valley to the Towers Bases (8 hours ). The road goes through forests and hills to reach the viewpoint from which to enjoy breathtaking views of the 3 towers of granite. Return to the camping.

DAY 4:
Transfer to Grey Lake. Trekking to Grey Lake lookout. In the way we have spectacular views of Paine Grande hill, the highest in the park. Accommodation in Serrano River sector.

DAY 5:
Navigation in open-boat through Serrano River to Puerto Toro. Trekking through the native forest to the Serrano Glacier. Navigation through the Fjord Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope), where we can see the Balmaceda Glacier to reach Estancia Perales, where you can enjoy the typical roasted lamb. We continue the journey by road to Punta Arenas. Dinner at local restaurant. Modern hostel accommodation in Punta Arenas.

DAY 6:
We embark early on a ferry to cross the Strait of Magellan, a journey that probably will have the company of dolphins, cormorants and other seabirds. We continue our journey by land towards a Patagonian Estancia in Northern Tierra del Fuego. In this day we will have the possibility of horse riding, trekking, bird watching or a photo safari. For dinner we will enjoy the typical cordero asado (lamb roasted on a spit above an open fire).

DAY 7:
Transfer to Fagnano Lake. Lunch and stop-over at Vicuña, center of operations of the Wildlife Conservation Society with the possibility to get to know their scientific work and learn about the projects involved in protecting wild Patagonia. Alternative activities: flyfishing and mountain biking. Night and dinner in refugio right next to the Fagnano Lake.

DAYS 8-9:
Two days trekking through stunning red peat-bogs found only in Patagonia and wild native forests rarely visited by humans as we travel along through the Sánchez River valley towards the Almirantazgo Fjord, where an open boat will await us to continue our journey.

DAY 10:
Breakfast on board a traditional sailing boat followed by navigation through the stunning fjords spreading like fingers from the Darwin Range. We will have the possibility of sea kayaking in fjords surrounded by glaciers, sea lions, dolphins and albatrosses. Night and seafood dinner on board.

DAY 11:
After a hearty breakfast we set sail to Punta Arenas, traveling through the tight and beautiful Gabriel Channel. We pass Cape Froward, the southernmost point on the American continental mainland, and make a stop at the nearby lighthouse of San Isidro, enjoying a seafood barbeque for lunch. Arrival to Punta Arenas in the late afternoon

DAY 12:
Breakfast in the hostel and transfer to Punta Arenas Airport – return flights


Day 12: Ventisqueros / Rio Puelo

Home made breakfast at the farm house. Back on the saddles! This morning the trail takes us across beautiful ancient forest, clean pampas and the unique opportunity to cross several times the Ventisqueros River. Enjoy a pleasant box lunch at the Ventisqueros shore. Afternoon, ride where we will probably meet farmers working on their land looking after the cattle and making a living through family agriculture. Is amazing to see how fertile these mountains can be!! At the end of the day we will cross the river just as the locals do: on a public little motor boat with the horses swimming by the lead .
